EAST WHEELING COMMUNITY PARK

OUR WORK

The East Wheeling Community Park (EWCP) project exists to build a safe and accessible natural wild space for use by residents and visitors of the City of Wheeling.

Our chief 2023 priorities include:

  1. Designing a series of terraced retaining walls securing the hillside from further erosion while providing an accessible walking path.

  2. Reducing the expansion of invasive plant life prevalent on the immediate and surrounding land.

  3. Planning and building a system of connected and accessible ground trails that encourage community members to explore the hillside.

This work happens in collaboration with many local and regional community partners including: The Laughlin Chapel, WVU Extension services, The City Of Wheeling, Men of Change, and others.
